My baby speaks....

Lani said MUM today!
I can't believe it! I'm still in shock! I was feeding her lunch when she looked at me and said Mum, and the great thing was Mel was on the phone and Luke was sitting next to me. I think Luke was a wee little bit sad that her first word wasn't Dad. But Yay she said Mum!
So i can't really remember what my last post was about, I think it was on saturday night. So I will go from Sunday...
We had lunch down at the fish co-op with some of our friends, it was great just to relax by the water and the weather was great aswell. Then we headed off down the coast to pick up Lani's high chair I won on ebay for $30. It is perfect condition! Then got back into a very smokey Newcastle ( we had a big fire in gateshead/redhead ) and headed over to Erin and Ben's to see Ollie (and of course Brodie and Tim). I can't believe how much he has grown up! He has THE cutest cheeks! Brodie and Ollie are here untill Saturday when they pack up and head back to Bega.
Yesterday Erin, Brodie, Tim, Mel, Koren, Jaida and I went ice skating! We all had a ball! Jaida picked it up really fast! Sometime's I forget she is only nearly 4! She can be so grown up at times.
Tomorrow Shell is coming over and I think Erin and Brodie might call in.
Should be a great day.

Busy, busy, busy weekends!

Hi all,
How are you all? I have had so much on! Last night Rob, Kristy and Noah came up for dinner, we had yummy fish and chip's.
Tonight Erin, Justin, Mel, Koren, Jaida and Elle came over and we had a BBQ. The weather has been great! It was around 32 degree's today! ( but that is a bit scary considering it is only spring so I'd say we are in for another HOT summer)
Tomorrow we are having lunch with Steve and Lisa!! YAY!! And then we are heading off to Erin and Ben's because Brodie, Tim and Ollie are up! It's going to be so good to see our little man again! The last time we saw him Lani was 2 month's old. Which brings me to a new point.......Tomorrow my baby girl will be 5 months old! Yikes that has gone way to fast!

Oh Lani rolled from her back to her tummy, and she is getting TEETH!! It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be! She is still sleeping through the night and is as happy as anything!
Oh another thing picasa2 have added web photo albums! So i have added it to my blog....

Our Week

Hi all,
sorry it has been a while but my bub has been sick! So it has been a very long week for us here!
It started off with runny poo, then went to runny nose. I have been told that this could be a sign of teeth coming through?!?!? Does anyone else agree? But other than that she has been so happy!
Today Michelle, Kristy and Julie came over for a play and Lani was on her best behaviour! They were asking how her sleeping was going and we told them what a good sleeper she is....... she then got tired so Luke picked her up and layed her in her rocker and she went straight to sleep! They were all very impressed!

Weird feelings

I'm having a very odd afternoon. I'm feeling really overwhelmed by everything. I feel like I don't have any support with everything. I'm finding it really hard not having a Mum around to help out with everything. I suppose you could just put this all down to just having a bad day, it just seems that these feeling are trying to get out of my head and my brain keeps pushing them back. I kind of feel like I don't have any family at the moment. I know that it's silly, but really it's how I am feeling. It kind of feels like the day mum died all over again. I'm having all the same feeling's and I feel like I have to put on a happy face for everyone?!?!? I really don't understand it all? Is this just another adjusting to parenthood thing again. I feel like I'm snapping at Luke for every little thing. I know this sounds crazy but I think I'm craving a mother figure in my life. Am I going crazy?!?! Ok so my rambling has finished and I slightly feel a tiny wee bit better.

Fathers Day

Hi all,
Sorry i haven't posted for a little bit. Well we celebrated Luke first fathers day on Sunday. It was also Justin's farewell. So all the clan got together for breakfast at TWIST in at the honeysuckle. It was lots of fun and very yummy. It was nice to be able to relax for a while and let all the Aunties and Uncles and Nanna and Poppa look after Lani for a while.

After breakfast we headed over to Grandma and Grandpas house to spend some time with grandpa before his chemotherapy starts (apparently all the babies can't be around him until the round of chemo is finished) It was nice to see all Luke's Aunties and Uncles and catch up with all the family gossip, and Auntie Jane and Auntie Mary-Claire enjoyed their snuggles with the girls.


Then the sad part started....... we all had to say our goodbye's to Justin. It was so hard to watch Jaida (Justin and Mel's eldest daughter) say goodbye to her Daddy. I think we all had a little cry.

Yesterday Paris (one of my best friends....... she has been over in America doing one of the camps since the end of May) Came over as well as Kristy! We had a great day catching up on how everything has been going. It was so good to be around them. I had a great day.

Today Lani woke up at 5am! So we have started her on solids at lunch time as well, and she ate a full jar! So again I'm noticing that my baby girl is growing up way to fast! Luke and I keep asking each other where has all time gone?! I suppose that's what happens....... they grow up at the blink of an eye!
OK i think i have blabbed on enough for one day!

Father Day Lunch Pictures

Our baby rolls over!

Hi all,
Well today we spent the day at Mel and Justin's house. We headed over there this afternoon for a Mary Kay party. (Mel is now a Mary Kay lady). There ended up only being a few of us there.... Auntie Jane, Amanda, Koren, Mel, Elle, Lani and me! But it was great! After the party Auntie Jane had left and Luke and Justin had come back, we were all sitting around chatting and Lani was on the floor on her tummy, I swear I took my eye's off her for one second and when I looked back at her she was on her back! Yay finally she does it! So it was really exciting! Lani and I ended up staying for dinner and we had a great night! It was really nice to get some time in with Justin before he leaves tomorrow!
Well anyway I have to have a shower and hop into bed!
